Description
Patches are perfect for covering tears, repairing damage and reinforcing worn areas; as well as adding aesthetic interest to your clothes and gear.
We will learn several methods for attaching patches using hand sewing and machine sewing. We’ll cover fabric choice, choosing the correct needle, thread and stitch for your project, preparing your fabric and cutting.
We will experiment with appliqué, technical fabrics, stretch fabrics, different patch shapes, machine darning and visible decorative mending.
Enjoy learning in a small group (max 8) in a supportive and friendly environment. We’ll discuss how to tackle common repairs, plus handy tips and tricks.
All materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own sewing kit if you like.
After trying out the different methods, you will have the opportunity to work on your own garments/gear which you can bring (jeans, trousers & shirts are great), or practice on the materials provided.
